Psalm 19:8-11 “The laws of the Lord are right, and those who obey them are happy.
The commands of the Lord are just and give understanding to the mind. Reverence for the Lord is good; it will continue forever. The judgments of the Lord are just; they are always fair. They are more desirable than the finest gold; they are sweeter than the purest honey. They give knowledge to me, your servant; I am rewarded for obeying them.”
Psalm 1:1-3 – “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take to sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.”

Deuteronomy 11:26-28 – “See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse — the blessing if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today; the curse if you disobey the commands of the Lord your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known.”
James 1:13-15 – “When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”
Deuteronomy 4:40 – “If you obey all the decrees and commands I am giving you today, all will be well with you and your children. I am giving you these instructions so you will enjoy a long life in the land the Lord your God is giving you for all time.”
Luke 5:3-5 – “Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat. And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.”

How to be Obedient
- Obedience flows from a place of love.
- When we are in love with God, we will desire to obey Him.
- Love desires to honor.
- Religion will feel like restriction. Religion makes Gods Word to feel like rules and laws that you won’t want to obey.
- God did not give us His Word to restrict us, He gave it to protect us.
- When you have an encounter with the Lord and fall in love with Him, you will want to be obedient.
- It will be hard to obey God if we do not know what His word says.
