210. Barriers to Breakthrough // Part 1: Overcoming Sin

All of us are designed for breakthrough. But then why don’t we experience it? Why do prayers go unanswered? Why do miracles not happen? This series will explore the various ways we limit God and the barriers that prevent God’s Word from coming to pass. Join us for part 1, where we delve into the first barriers: sin and disobedience.

Bible Verses

Deuteronomy 28:15 “However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you.”

John 8:10-11 “Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you? ”No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

John 4:16-18 “Go and get your husband,” Jesus told her. “I don’t have a husband,” the woman replied. Jesus said, “You’re right! You don’t have a husband for you have had five husbands, and you aren’t even married to the man you’re living with now. You certainly spoke the truth!”

John 5:14 “But afterward Jesus found him in the Temple and told him, “Now you are well; so, stop sinning, or something even worse may happen to you.”

1 Corinthians 15:34 “Think carefully about what is right and stop sinning. For to your shame, I say that some of you don’t know God at all.”

Romans 2:4 “Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?”

Hosea 4:6 “My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me. Since you priests refuse to know me, I refuse to recognize you as my priests. Since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will forget to bless your children.”

Matthew 7:13-14 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”

John 9:31 “We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but he is ready to hear those who worship him and do his will.”

Proverbs 28:9 “God detests the prayers of a person who ignores the law.”

1 John 2:15 “Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.”
