It’s time for another Q&A episode! Tune into this episode as Caroline shares answers to your questions on the topic, including her favorite Bible translation, her thoughts on fertility treatments, maintaining hope, forgiving others, and more!

What advice would you share on forgiveness and healing deep father wounds of rejection?

  • A father wound is any wound that we picked up from a parent (father or mother).
  • If we are not aware of these father wounds, we can often project how our earthly parents are onto our Heavenly Father.
  • There are so many different father wounds.
  • Pursue Inner Healing
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you in identifying where the lie came from and replace the lie with the truth.

  • Forgive the person, forgive God and forgive yourself.

Can you share a specific promise the Lord gave you and Colby regarding biological children?

  • God is a man of His Word, and we should take God at His Word and cling to it.
  • We should not be looking for some additional formula where we need God to speak in addition to what is in His Word.
  • God has not spoken to Caroline and Colby about pursuing adoption or fertility treatments in the 12 years of their journey.
  • God has promised Caroline and Colby biological babies.
  • God has given them dreams, visions, spoken to them the prophetic and has given them peace in their waiting.
  • If you haven’t received a prophetic word, that’s ok! God is a man of His word and scripture is enough!
  • If you’re contending for something, find a promise in the Word of God to cling to!

Do you believe Christians can be pro-life and use IVF? When do you believe life begins?

  • You cannot be a Christian and not be pro-life.
  • Any attack on life is the enemy’s attack.
  • Life begins at conception.
  • The enemy attacks the womb through abortion and through infertility.
  • There are ethical and nonethical ways of pursuing IVF.
  • It’s important to make pro-life decisions while pursuing IVF.
  • There is nothing more important than being obedient to God.

Do you believe that those who use one of these methods still trust God for a baby?

  • Not always. Some people put their hope and trust in IVF instead of God.
  • It is not the method that we seek that determines if our trust is in God.
  • The posture of our heart is what tells us if our trust is in God.

What are your thoughts on nutrition and preconception supplements and interventions?

  • If you are unable to conceive, get to the root of what is going on in your body.
  • Seek holistic methods and interventions to get to the root of the issue.

How do you remain so hopeful during your trying to conceive journey? When do you grieve?

  • Dealing with disappointment is different than grieving.
  • The grieving process is necessary and healthy.
  • Grief is healthy when there is still hope.
  • Hope in Jesus will never put us to shame.
  • Trauma is an open door to the enemy. You must close the door through inner healing.
  • You must partner up with the Holy Spirit to overcome the spirit of trauma.
  • My level of hope isn’t determined by my circumstances. My level of hope is determined by the Holy Spirit and Jesus in me.
  • What is your hope in? Has a baby or a spouse become an idol in your life?
  • Do things to strengthen yourself in the Lord.
  • When you don’t deal with disappointment, it becomes unbelief.
  • Identify ungodly beliefs or lies you have been believing. Take them before the Lord.
  • Process your grief and disappointment with the Lord.
  • Root yourself in the Word of God. Let His Joy be your strength and let His strength be your joy.
