234. Walking in Light // Navigating Halloween and Spiritual Open Doors

In this episode, Colby and I tackle Halloween and its roots in darkness while emphasizing our call as Christians to walk in the Light. We discuss the potential dangers of open doors that can invite the enemy into our lives and how to recognize them. Join us as we explore the significance of these open doors and how to align ourselves with the Kingdom of Heaven rather than the kingdom of darkness.

Bible Verses:

1 Corinthians 6:12 – ““I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.”

1 John 1:5-8 – “This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”

Halloween

  • The topic of Halloween is not a salvation issue.
  • Why would we want to celebrate a holiday that focuses on fear, death, and darkness?
  • The roots of the Halloween holiday include paganism and witchcraft.
  • There are good parts to Halloween, but it does not justify the negative aspects of the holiday.

Light vs. Dark

  • God Himself is Light.
  • Jesus has called us to walk in the Light with Him.
  • If we were once in darkness, why would we want to go back there?
  • We as Christians should hate evil.
  • The enemy is trying to bring us back into the kingdom of darkness.
  • Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. He came to bring light and life.

Open Doors

  • Open doors are anything that opens the door to the enemy.
  • In the spirit realm we often unknowingly open doors to the enemy.
  • Open doors could include – listening to things you shouldn’t be listening to, watching a show that is full of sex and alcohol and bad words. Sororities and Fraternities have a lot of demonic roots attached to them.
  • Celebrating Halloween could easily become an open door and become an invitation to the enemy.
  • We all probably have open doors that we are not aware of and that is why inner healing is important.
  • Sorcery and witchcraft are very real, and they will permeate their way into our lives without us even knowing about it.
  • There is no shame for participating in these things, but you need to have freedom from it.
  • Repentance is beautiful and necessary.
