279. Myshel Wilkins // Standing Firm in Faith

What does it look like to keep standing firm in faith when you’re in the middle of disappointment and pain? In this powerful episode, Caroline sits down with Myshel Wilkins to talk about the kind of faith that refuses to retreat, even in the middle of grief. Myshel shares her journey through eight miscarriages, the battle to guard God’s character in suffering, and how a deep reverence for God shaped the way she responded to loss. Myshel’s testimony will encourage you to honor God with your life, protect your heart from unbelief, and keep standing firm in faith for the promises He has spoken.

Originally from Kentucky, Myshel Wilkins grew up traveling internationally with her missionary father and Ghanaian mother, speaking and leading worship from a young age. After moving to Nashville, she entered the Christian music industry and toured as a background vocalist with artists such as Don Moen, Matthew West, TobyMac, and Mandisa. Myshel now ministers through worship and speaking at conferences and events, including serving on Beth Moore’s Living Proof worship team. She and her husband, Michael, live in Dallas, Texas, with their two sons.

Bible Verses:

Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Romans 10:17 “So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.”

Matthew 5:3 “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.”

Luke 18:1-8 “One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. 2 “There was a judge in a certain city,” he said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people. 3 A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ 4 The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, 5 but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’”6 Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. 7 Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?”

Hebrews 11:6 “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”

Exodus 20:20 “Don’t be afraid,” Moses answered them, “for God has come in this way to test you, and so that your fear of him will keep you from sinning!”

James 1:2-4 “2 Dear brothers and sisters,[a] when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”

Psalm 84:11 “For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.”

1 Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.”

1 Thessalonians 4:13 “And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.”

Nehemiah 8:10 “….Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!”

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”

Psalm 100:4 “Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.”
